I am constructing a new building. How do I request to have new service installed?
Please follow these instructions to avoid any unnecessary delays in the connection of your services:
- Obtain city or county permits.
- Call call our Business Specialists at 1-800-336-7343 to apply for gas and/or electric service. Gas and electric load information will be needed when you make your application. You should also call the telephone and cable companies to make arrangements for their services.
- Call our Project Management office at the appropriate number listed below to request meter locations, submit plans, etc.:

I am adding equipment and need more power and/or gas to my business site. How do I get this done?
For assistance in upgrading your gas and/or electric service, Mail SDG&E Now or contact the appropriate number listed below. We will need the service address being upgraded along with the load information.

How can I find out if my gas and/or electric meter release inspection has been received?
We will be happy to check that for you. Just Mail SDG&E Now and provide us with the service address in question or call 1-800-336-7373.
What services does SDG&E offer for gas appliances?
SDG&E can inspect gas appliances and make minor adjustments as necessary, including calibrating ovens.

Does SDG&E install appliances or convert propane to natural gas?
SDG&E does not install gas appliances but will change the connection on propane appliances that are capable of being converted to natural gas.
Does SDG&E make scheduled appointments for service?
Yes! Your time is important and we understand that. We’re so committed to meeting our service appointments, that we guarantee we’ll be on time or you’ll get a credit on your bill.
I am planning to relocate my business. How can I get my gas and electric service transferred to my new address?
To transfer your gas and electric service, call 1-800-336-7343 at least five working days before your scheduled move date.
What does SDG&E do to investigate suspected gas problems?
SDG&E will send a service person out, free of charge, to investigate the problem.

Does SDG&E sell maintenance contracts for appliances or equipment?
At this time, SDG&E does not offer maintenance contracts.
Will SDG&E replace broken breaker switches, repair internal electric wiring, or service electric appliances?
SDG&E does not replace parts or make repairs on customer-owned equipment or wiring.
