Unplanned Outages
Unplanned outages can be caused by many things – traffic accidents, damage to power lines, even metallic balloons.
The two most common causes in the San Diego area are storms and high winds. If your power goes out unexpectedly, the first thing to do is check your circuit breakers or fuses.
If there’s a shortage of electricity throughout the state, Cal-ISO may require that SDG&E interrupt service to some of our customers. If this happens, we'll do our best to notify you as quickly as possible.
If you have an outage, call SDG&E at 1-800-611-7343 to report it.
