SDG&E's Meter Readers have an accuracy record of over 99%.
Statistics show that over 93% of the meters tested were accurate, far exceeding the CPUC's standard of accuracy. The same statistics show that over 99% of the meters that were not accurate were either slow or stuck. Therefore the chances of being over-billed by a fast meter are minimal and adjustments to the customer's accounts are made in such cases.
