On the day of Smart Meter installation, the SDG&E meter installer will knock on your door to let you know he has arrived.

The installer will require safe and secure access to your gas and electric meters.

Smart meter installation will take 15-20 minutes and in most cases your power will be out for approximately 5 minutes.

A Smart Meter gas device is installed behind existing gas meter dials. The device allows meter data to be sent remotely to SDG&E .
