What Is the Business Energy Report Program?

The Business Energy Report (BER) program is intended to assist our business customers in tracking energy use and provide helpful tips on how to conserve energy. The program can help customers get a better understanding of where their energy is being used which can help manage energy costs. Here are some features to help you understand how this program is working for you.

Similar Business Comparison

Customers can see how their energy usage compares with other similar businesses based on a number of attributes when available:

  • Similar location
  • Business type
  • Business size

Your Top Appliances

Get a clear understanding of your energy consumption with detailed insights into the usage of individual appliances. Customers can identify which appliances are using energy during and outside operating hours. Our comprehensive analysis breaks down your energy usage by each appliance, highlighting the highest energy consumers. This information enables you to make informed decisions, optimize energy use, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs. Empower your business to be more energy-efficient with these valuable insights.

Your Business Energy Insights Dashboard

  • Access your personal profile directly through the monthly email or by scanning the QR code on the back of your energy report. Update your profile to customize these reports to better serve your needs.

You are among a select group of SDG&E customers included in the Business Energy Reports program, which is designed to help customers save energy 

The Business Energy Report provides personalized information about the energy use at your business and ways to help make your facility more efficient. The report will assist you  with making informed choices on how to save energy, trim your energy costs and make your business more energy efficient.

Each report includes the following:
•    Information on Energy use: You will be able to see your detailed energy usage pattern and usage consumption by appliance type.
•    Comparison with customers with similar businesses to compare your energy usage.
•    Personalized insights and recommendations based on your usage at the appliance level to save energy, including information on rebates and other programs we offer.

 

Yes. The reports are provided to help you understand the energy use at your business, how to save energy and reduce energy costs. If you would like to opt out, you can do so by contacting us at [email protected] with this subject line: BER Opt Out - Your name, email address & physical address.

About the Similar Business Comparison

Similar Business Comparison is an insight that allows you to benchmark your energy usage against that of similar businesses.

 We determine similar businesses to yours based on geographic location, local climate, and business type and size (if available). To enhance the accuracy of your similar business comparisons, you can update your Business Profile. Simply access the survey through the link in your email or scan the QR code on the back of your report to provide more detailed information about your facility and appliances.

To ensure the comparisons reflect your specific circumstances more accurately, consider completing your business profile survey.

California customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase any additional services offered by the contractor.
