Payment Pre-authorization
I authorize San Diego Gas and Electric Company (“SDG&E”) to make regularly scheduled charges to my designated checking or savings account, in the amount of my then current SDG&E statement balance on the payment date I previously selected.
I understand and agree that SDG&E will debit my designated checking or savings account each month via Automatic Clearing House (ACH) debit, even if I have made other payments between the statement date and the scheduled payment date, including if I paid the statement balance. I realize that utility bills may vary substantially, depending on my usage and rates.
By enrolling in SDG&E’s recurring Automatic Monthly Payment Program (“Auto Pay Program”), I also acknowledge the following:
- If the scheduled date of any electronic funds transfer (“EFT”) falls on a weekend or holiday, my EFT will be initiated as of the next business day.
- My enrollment in the Auto Pay Program will be established immediately after my request is received by SDG&E. If I have a past-due balance or am a Net Energy Metering customer with an existing balance, I authorize SDG&E to debit my designated checking or savings account for a one-time payment in the full amount of such balance at the time of enrollment.
- If any EFT is returned or dishonored for any reason, including non-sufficient funds, a stop payment order or a closed checking or savings account, SDG&E may at its discretion attempt to process the charge again within 30 days. I further agree to an additional $7.50 charge for each returned or dishonored EFT which will be initiated as a separate EFT transaction from the authorized recurring payment.
- This pre-authorization will remain in effect unless I cancel my enrollment in the Auto Pay Program and SDG&E has had a reasonable opportunity to act. Also, I understand I have the right to remain enrolled in the Auto Pay Program, but may stop any EFT prior to its scheduled date. If I choose to cancel my enrollment or to stop an individual EFT prior to its scheduled date, I may do so by canceling my enrollment in the Auto Pay Program via the My Account portal prior to the scheduled payment date or by calling SDG&E at 1-800-411-7343.
- SDG&E reserves the right to change these terms or terminate this Auto Pay Program at any time. Notice may be given on or with your statement or by other methods.
