Managing Your Notification Preferences
SDG&E offers text messages as a convenient and effortless way to stay up to date about your account. Text messages are a free feature, but standard text messaging and data rates apply. Check with your mobile carrier to confirm your text messaging rates.
The primary account holder enrolled in the 24-month installment plan is automatically signed up for text notifications for Billing and Account Updates which include missed payment notifications. From now on, the primary account holder will receive a bill ready monthly notification by text and email. They may receive additional text messages depending on their account activity. If there is no mobile number associated with the primary account holder, they can go to My Energy Center to add text notifications to Billing and Account Updates.
Opt-out of Text Notifications
If the primary account holder would like to opt-out of these text notifications, they have two options:
- From the text message, reply STOP to stop receiving them
- The primary account holder can go to My Energy Center to update their Notification Settings for Billing and Account Updates
Please note, that if the primary account holder opts out of bill ready or other billing and account text messages, then they will also be unenrolled from missed payment notifications.
