Time-of-Use Plans

Our Time-of-Use plans reward you when you conserve energy during hours of peak use, whether your energy provider is a Community Choice Aggregator (CCA) or SDG&E.

With the right plan, small changes can lead to big savings!

Pricing and Your Electricity Provider

Electricity pricing consists of three main parts: generation costs, delivery charges and other required fees. Your generation charges may come from a Community Choice Aggregator (CCA) or SDG&E, both of which purchase or generate electricity on behalf of their customers. SDG&E delivers this energy to you and is also responsible for modernizing and maintaining powerlines, managing billing and providing customer care.

Your bill includes:

Electric Generation

The cost of electric
generation by your CCA

Electric Delivery

The costs of SDG&E’s
delivery of electricity

State, Taxes & Other

City, state and public
programs required charges

You can learn more about CCAs and find your provider here.

TOU-DR-P Pricing Plan

The TOU-DR-P plan splits the day into On-Peak, Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak hours, with lower rates most of the year. This plan also has Reduce Your Use event days where you may be called upon to conserve energy.

More Details

Reduce Your Use (RYU) Days may be called when energy use and demand on the grid are high. The RYU Event Period Adder ($1.16) is an additional charge that will be billed to customers from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. during an RYU Event Day. The RYU Event Period Adder is not applicable during event days for other demand response programs.

On this plan it is important to sign up for Alerts, so you know when to conserve if a Reduce Your Use event day is called. Up to 18 events can be called per year. If called, you’ll be asked to conserve energy between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. when demand for energy and pricing is the highest.

Pricing

This pricing plan is not available to Community Choice Aggregation (CCA), Direct Access (DA) or Transitional Bundled Service (TBS) customers.
