For Your Information: Scientific Reviews on EMF
Numerous internationally recognized scientific organizations and independent regulatory advisory groups have conducted scientific reviews of the EMF research literature. It is their ability to bring together experts from a variety of disciplines to review the full body of research on this complex issue, that gives their reports the credibility and recognition they have received.
Review Conclusions
Without exception, these major reviews have reported that the body of data, as large as it is, does not demonstrate that exposure to power-frequency magnetic fields causes cancer or other health risks, although the possibility cannot be dismissed. The weakness of the reported associations, the lack of consistency and the severe limitations in exposure assessment in the epidemiology studies together with the…

Association: A correlation or relationship. A statistical dependence between two or more events or variables.
Bias: Prejudice. Something that may skew the results; having the results appear greater or less than that which is real.
Biological effect: An effect that occurs naturally in the human body. An example: the pupils of the eye will change according to the difference in lighting.
Calculated fields: Indirect estimate of magnetic fields using current load data and distance to power lines, usually calculated by a software program.
Carcinogen: A cancer-causing substance.

Smart Meter FAQs
Smart meters are coming—and you may already have one. If you’ve wondered about how and why we’re using them, read on for answers.
What are smart meters?
Smart meters are digital devices that collect energy-use data and, unlike traditional meters, transmit and receive data, too. Smart meters record electric energy use at your home every hour, and every 15 minutes at your business.Natural gas information is available on a daily basis. Smart meters let you monitor your consumption more precisely so you can make more informed energy choices…
Emergency preparedness
Preparing for an emergency begins long before one happens. Take steps to prepare now.
Develop a plan
Emergencies can come in many forms such as wildfires, storms, earthquakes or school or work emergencies. Being prepared for emergencies means having a written plan as well as supplies. With a written plan you have a systematic and repeatable approach to emergencies.
Your plan should be tailored to meet your specific situation, such as preparing for elderly and disabled family members as well as pets. Review and update it annually.
Consider these things when making a plan:
Create an emergency plan for your family, identifying two places for the family to meet.
A place outside your home
A spot away from your neighborhood in case you can't return home
Practice the plan with your family, including your children.
Review the emergency plans at your workplace, your…

What to Do in a Fire Emergency
The threat of wildfires is something we all live with in Southern California. But there are ways to keep your family safe and prepare your home in case a fire does occur.
In Case of Emergency
If you have been instructed to leave your house or building during a fire emergency, we recommend that you do NOT turn off your gas or electricity unless you smell or hear a natural gas leak.
Public safety is always our main concern, and power will be restored to homes and businesses as soon safely possible. Check our real time outage map, for outage restoration times, or you may call 800-411-7343. In some cases, an inspection needs to be completed before we can turn your gas or electricity back on.
